Heroes
The American science fiction drama television series ‘Heroes’ has created an unparalleled impact on the minds of people worldwide. This creation of Tim Kring premiered at NBC on September 25, 2006 and is a story of several people who “thought they were like everyone else…until they realize they have incredible abilities.” These people get to know that their lives are instrumental in preventing a catastrophe and saving mankind. The Heroes series is based on the style of American comic books in aesthetic and story telling purpose and is one of the most watched night programs among adults of 18-49 years of age.
The music of the first season of the serial is composed by Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman with vocals by Shenkar whereas in the second season Manon Dave was added to the music team and there was a trio of composers.

The Seasons
The first season of the serial featured an ensemble cast of 12 main characters which included the famous Leonard Roberts as D.L. Hawkins, Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet, Zachary Quinto as Sylar, James Kyson Lee as Ando Masahashi etc. These people form a disparate group of people who gradually become aware of their special abilities. A course of events make them realize and demonstrate their special powers but this also brings a difference in their personal and professional lives. At the same time, there is a group of ordinary people involved in the task of investigating the origins and extent of these abilities.
The second season of the serial presents the lives of the heroes’ four months after the events of the first season finale. The season begins with showing that the Petrelli brothers are still alive and Nathan becoming an alcoholic due to a ruined career. Peter suffers from amnesia and is found chained to a shipping crate in Ireland. Peter also falls in love with Caitlin, the sister if a gangster and does not want to know his past until Elle, a mysterious girl who has the supernatural ability to manipulate electricity comes in his life. But as Peter tries to delve into his past, he reaches in future and makes a scary discovery that in one year 93% of Earth’s population will be dead.
Over a period of time there are other new heroes introduced such as Maya and Alejandro who posses the power to produce a potent and lethal illness and its antidote respectively.

Origins
On May 14, 2007 NBC declared that it will air a six episode Heroes spin off called Heroes: Origins in 2007-08. This show was to be telecasted after the completion of the second season. It was decided that a new character will be introduced each week and the choice of thee viewers would decided that what which one would stay for the following season of the regular series. But after sometime on October 31, 2007 an announcement was in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter that the Origins has been put on hold for now due to an expected strike by the Writers Guild of America.
On January 19, 2007, Heroes Evolution, a digital extension of the series was released which explores the Heroes universe.

Ratings
The Heroes was NBC’s top rates scripted show for the 2006-07 and was labeled as the most successful show amongst all others that made a debut in that period. In United States, the Heroes was at 21st number with an average of 14.3 million viewers in United States.
